PostHeaderIcon What should our job titles be?

My business partner and I are in the process of creating a (computer/network/technical/project management) company.

We both will own 50% of the company, but are unsure what our job titles should be.

Initially, we thought we would both be CEOs, but I’m unsure if a company can have 2 CEOs. Additionally, I think calling yourself a "CEO" while you’re still a 2 man show sounds a little pompous.

What could we call ourselves that would establish that we hold equal authority? (and perhaps not necessarily have the same title)

A two man show shouldn’t affect the title you’re given. What should affect it more is the type of business set-up you have. For example:
partnership=Partner
LLC= Create your own title, including partner, director, etc
Corporation= Check out the titles you usually see given for corporations, there may even be titles you shouldn’t use. Check with the IRS website and pull up info on it to verify.

For our personal businesses, we prefer partner or specialist when describing to others. I’d prefer to keep a lower profile, that way less people target you for various things. If you are an owner or have a fancy title, they automatically think you have money.

PostHeaderIcon How to start a career in project Management?

i have done my MBA in management. Now i want to start my career in project management. what should i do? Where should i start?

1. Try to land the project manager job first. You will find a number of open project manager positions here: http://pmstuff.net/PMJobs.html

2. Be sure to tweak you resume to make it more project oriented. I worked in the retail world for years before I had even heard of the role Project Manager. Once I understood the role, I realized I had managed a number of unofficial projects in my past!

3. Learn more about project management. You will find a ton of articles here:

PostHeaderIcon project management subject question?

why might different managers, users, analysts, and technical specialists have different calenders for same the project?

When developing a project schedule using a project management package such as MS Project, you can set up different calendars for different people.

Each calendar represents when that person (or type of person) is available to work. This might be certain days of the week and/or include holidays and vacations. In might even reflect that some people start at 7:00, others at 9:00, depending on how accurate you need to be.

This way as you schedule a task the tool can check all the calendars to make sure that the required people are in fact available.

PostHeaderIcon What is the BEST TIME MANAGEMENT TOOL/RULE? Can you tell me HOW TO STOP DELAYING MY PROJECTS/PLANS?

I have read many time management books.
But still i am delaying my plans.
How can i stop being lazy?
How can i start to use the power inside me?
What is the best way to STOP POSTPONING things tomorror(s).

Hi,
I don’t know what is the business you are dealing with. But I think you should try to find some scheduling system to help you fix the problem. I launched the ERP(Enterprise Resources Planning Systems) in China before… My suggestion is :
1) before starting the project, you have to use the backward scheduling.
2) Set the time alert on your system 2 days(or more cursion days) before your target date.
3) Or require to hire an Super Assistant to monitor your tasts list(…third party can wake you up)
4) Make some high punishment to youself if postposing project.
If you have other questions, pls feel free to contact me. Just see if I can help you:)

PostHeaderIcon which is the best international college to study masters in project management?

Could you please guide me on
1) Which is the best country to study masters in project management?
2) Which is the best international college to study masters in project management?
3) where can I get all information for the above?

I’m looking at the same thing. The best bet is to ONLY get a degree from a PMI certified program. http://www.pmi.org/CareerDevelopment/Pages/NA.aspx

I don’t know if there’s a specific country that’s best, but I’d say perhaps you can go to a school that’s more closely linked to an internationally-recognized school or area. Financial Times and US News both rank business school programs.
